Club facts and honours

Club Atlético River Plate were founded in 1901 in the dockside La Boca area of Buenos Aires before moving north to Núñez. River are one of Argentina's two giants, record holders for domestic league titles, and four-time Copa Libertadores winners. The Monumental doubles as the regular home of the Argentina national team.

River matchdays are members-first. The club sells home tickets to socios through RiverID and the Deportick platform, with priority bands by membership type and attendance record, before any remainder reaches general sale. Becoming a socio is a formal process and grants preferred ticket access, so most visiting fans are not buying from the members system directly. Socios with the highest priority get a purchase code first; if seats remain, wider member bands and then a limited general sale open, often only one to two weeks before kick-off. Members' / connected fan: matchday at the Monumental
