Arsenal matchday, fan first

Arsenal are 2025-26 Premier League champions with 14 top-flight titles and the record 14 FA Cups. Tickets require membership; the season ticket waiting list is over 100,000. Arsenal tube station (Piccadilly line) is 2 minutes from the Emirates turnstiles. Eat on Upper Street or in Highbury and Islington before heading to the ground. Home fans: Holloway Road and Blackstock Road pubs are closest. Away fans: use the official away access guide and in-stadium facilities only.

Club facts and honours

Arsenal were founded in 1886 by munitions workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich as Dial Square. The club relocated across London to Highbury in 1913 and moved to the Emirates Stadium in 2006. The 2003-04 Invincibles side, managed by Arsène Wenger, went unbeaten through all 38 Premier League games, a record that still stands. Arsenal won the Premier League title in 2025-26, their first top-flight title since that unbeaten season.

Tickets and stadium map

The Emirates Stadium is in Holloway, north London (N7), close to the Highbury & Islington border. It sits off Hornsey Road and Drayton Park, a short walk from Arsenal tube station on the Piccadilly line.

Arsenal operate a membership system with Red Membership as the entry-level tier. For 2026-27, Red Members access tickets via an exclusive ballot system for every home fixture. Season Ticket holders have their seats guaranteed. The club's official pages list current tiers and pricing for 2026-27. For 2026-27 all home match tickets are sold via ballot exclusively for Arsenal Members. Members register for each fixture's ballot window; groups can register together. A seat utilisation policy applies — members who do not use their ticket on more than one occasion are blocked from future ballots. A general sale is extremely rare.

Ticketing rules to show clearly

  • All home league fixtures in 2026-27 use a ballot system for Members — this is not fixture-specific, it applies across the board. Members enter via their Online Box Office account. Successful ballot entrants then purchase; unsuccessful entrants can access the Ticket Exchange once a match is sold out. Check the official ticket portal for each fixture's ballot window dates.
  • Away allocations are typically distributed via the visiting club. Arsenal fans travelling away should check their own club's ticketing arrangements.
  • Arsenal use mobile ticketing. The club recommends downloading tickets in advance in case of connectivity issues near the stadium.
  • Buying tickets from unauthorised resellers risks entry being refused. The official Ticket Exchange is the only safe secondary route.
  • Arsenal have reported a season ticket waiting list of more than 100,000 people. New season ticket opportunities are extremely rare.

Itineraries

Home fan: north London matchday ritual

  1. Eat in Islington or Highbury before you head toward the ground. Upper Street and the Highbury & Islington area give you the most choice.
  2. Use Arsenal tube station (Piccadilly line, 2-3 minute walk to the turnstiles) as your main arrival point. Holloway Road station is closed on matchdays.
  3. The Tollington Arms or The George on Eden Grove are the closest home-fan pub options before kick-off. Check entry requirements — many local pubs ask for a match ticket or Arsenal membership on matchdays.
  4. Arrive at the Emirates at least 90 minutes before kick-off to clear queues.

Use official transport timings. Do not direct away fans to home-fan pub rows.

Away fan: practical and safe

  1. Eat and drink in central London or at King's Cross before heading north — many local pubs near the Emirates require a home match ticket for entry.
  2. Use the Piccadilly line to Arsenal station (2-3 minutes to the ground), or Finsbury Park station as a less congested alternative. Holloway Road station is closed on matchdays.
  3. Near the ground, use the official away fan facilities inside the stadium rather than trying to find neutral pubs in the immediate area.
  4. Check the official Arsenal away access guide (arsenal.com/accessguide) for your fixture before travelling.

Safety-sensitive. Do not direct away fans to home-fan pub rows. Always link to the current official away access guide.

Food-first London matchday

  1. Pick the style first: Xi'an Impression for quick noodles, OAK N4 for wine-bar calm, Farang or Trullo for a booked meal, or Top Cuvee for a wine-led Blackstock Road stop.
  2. Arrive early for tiny or booking-led venues; matchdays compress the whole area around the stadium.
  3. Walk from Finsbury Park, Highbury & Islington or Arsenal station depending on the venue. Holloway Road station is closed on matchdays.
  4. Use the Emirates concourses as the fallback after turnstiles open, not the main food plan.

Named food rows are now sourced. Re-check opening hours and booking requirements per fixture.

Football plus a London night out

  1. Use Angel, Islington or King’s Cross as the hotel/night-out base rather than trying to stay directly outside the stadium.
  2. For a booked meal, use Trullo, Farang or Top Cuvee; for a calmer drink use OAK N4 before heading toward Finsbury Park or Arsenal station.
  3. After the match, walk out with the crowd and use tube, bus or taxi rather than relying on Holloway Road station.
  4. Choose Hilton Angel, DoubleTree Angel/Kings Cross or Premier Inn Angel Islington if the night-out part matters as much as the match.

Night-out row now uses named venues and hotels. Check current hours and room pricing before fixture-specific use.

Family day at the Emirates

  1. Visit the Emirates Stadium statues (Thierry Henry, Herbert Chapman, Tony Adams) outside the ground before kick-off — free to see from the concourse.
  2. Book a stadium tour or the Arsenal Museum for a non-matchday if you want the full experience without the matchday crowd pressure.
  3. Islington has family-friendly cafes and restaurants along Upper Street for a pre-match meal.
  4. The Clock End family area inside the stadium is the main family zone. Check the official seating plan for current family section locations.

Check tour times, booking requirements and matchday shop hours each season.
