1. FC Kaan-Marienborn matchday, fan first

1. FC Kaan-Marienborn are a German amateur football club from Kaan-Marienborn, a district of Siegen in North Rhine-Westphalia. Founded in 2007, they rose from the lower amateur ranks to the Regionalliga West — the fourth tier — before withdrawing voluntarily after 2022-23 when tighter stadium licensing requirements made continued play at that level impossible. They now compete in the lower amateur tiers of the Westfalen football pyramid. FanChants has no chants recorded for this club yet: a nearly-empty songbook for a nearly-unknown club is exactly what this record is supposed to be.

Club facts and honours

Founded in 2007 from the football section of TuS 1886 Kaan-Marienborn, the club climbed rapidly through German amateur football with backing from local industry patron Christoph Thoma (Maschinenfabrik Herkules). They reached the Landesliga by 2008, the Verbandsliga Westfalen by 2010, the Oberliga Westfalen in 2016, and the Regionalliga West — Germany's fourth tier — in 2018. After immediate relegation in 2018-19 they returned to the Regionalliga, but withdrew their senior team voluntarily after 2022-23 when the WDFV tightened stadium licensing requirements the Herkules Arena could not meet (covered seating, revised away-block configuration). Their reserve team, then in Kreisliga C (tier 11), became the new first team. As of 2025-26 the club competes in the lower amateur tiers of the Westfalen football pyramid. From the Regionalliga to the Kreisliga — and still going

In 2023, 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn walked away from the Regionalliga West — Germany's fourth tier — rather than meet stadium requirements they couldn't afford. Within months they were in Kreisliga C, tier 11. No drama. No collapse. Just a small club from a Siegen suburb doing what it takes to keep football going. FanChants has covered them since before the fall.

Founded in 2007. Rose to the fourth tier. Still here.

    1. FC Kaan-Marienborn split from TuS 1886 Kaan-Marienborn in 2007 and spent 15 years climbing German football — Landesliga, Verbandsliga, Oberliga, Regionalliga. Then the stadium rules changed. They stepped back. They're still playing. That's German amateur football.
